The Waynesboro Area High School gymnastics team kicked off its season with an exciting first meet against Altoona, held on Dec. 13. The competition showcased the talents of the Maidens, who put forth a commendable effort but ultimately fell short, scoring 129.8 points compared to Altoona’s 138.8. Among the standout performers was Kayden Kettoman, who demonstrated remarkable skill and determination. Kettoman secured fourth place on the bars, second place on the beam and an impressive third place in the all-around competition. Her performances were pivotal in highlighting the potential of the Waynesboro team as they move forward in the season. As the Maidens continue to train and refine their skills, they look forward to upcoming meets where they aim to build on their initial performances and improve their overall standings in the league.
