HAGERSTOWN – The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown has announced the scholarship winners for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Scholarship opportunities available to students enrolled in partner universities are largely funded by the generous support of community members and local businesses.

The general USMH scholarships are funded through the proceeds of various fundraisers held throughout the year with the largest support coming from the annual Elizabethtowne Feaste and Frolic.

The Magnolia Foundation scholarships are a result of donations made through the Waltersdorf/Henson challenge grant campaign conducted by the Community Foundation of Washington County.

Additional named scholarships exist due to significant gifts from The City of Hagerstown, Board of Washington County Commissioners, Citicorp, the estate of Florence Graff and an anonymous donor who supports STEM programs.

To qualify, students must be currently enrolled in programs offered by partner universities of USMH, have a status of junior level or higher and hold a 3.0 or better grade point average. As part of the application process, students are required to submit official transcripts, letters of recommendation as well as a short essay sharing their education goals and community service efforts with the scholarship committee which is comprised of USMH staff and USMH board members.

A reception was held recently to honor the following students from USMH’s partner universities who will be receiving scholarships (* indicates the student has received a scholarship for the second year in a row):
