Vicki Ellen Wile, 67, of Bendersville, PA, passed away peacefully at The Gardens in Gettysburg, PA, on January 20, 2025. 

Born on November 2, 1957, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard H. Sprenkle and Naomi A. (Yaukey) Sprenkle of Waynesboro, PA.

A 1975 graduate of Waynesboro Area High School, Vicki earned degrees in Microbiology and Horticulture from Pennsylvania State University, where she laid the foundation for her distinguished career in science. 

Vicki began her professional journey as a microbiologist at Waynesboro Hospital, where she made significant contributions to her field. Later, after relocating to New Mexico, she played a pivotal role in ozone research, co-authoring several scientific papers alongside leading researchers. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, she turned her expertise toward education, teaching science at Abraxas Youth & Family Services School in South Mountain, PA, where she inspired and mentored countless students.

Vicki was a loving and devoted wife to her husband of 29 years, Hans Wile, and a cherished sister to Dr. Barbara JoAnn Seabrook of Princess Anne, MD. She is also survived by her nieces, Laurie Timmons, Stacey Miller, Shelley Bracken, Jill Hinkle, and her nephew, Ronnie Hinkle.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gregory R. Sprenkle, and her sister, Constance M. Turner.

Throughout her life, Vicki was known for her intellectual curiosity, her dedication to her family, and her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the world.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
