Sara Jane Golden,83, of St. Thomas passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Shook Home. She was born January 6, 1942, in Lewistown, PA, the daughter of the late Eleanor (Miller) and Warren Rice. She graduated from Lewistown High School and York School of Nursing. Sara was a registered nurse and worked over 50 years in the nursing field. Sara was part of a bowling league, enjoyed traveling, casinos, and hanging out with friends. She was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers fan also loved Nascar racing. She is survived by Charles F. Golden III (stepson), John and Glenda Sheaffer (brother), four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her two loving dogs (Katie and Georgia). In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Golden, Jr., Ronald and Robert Sheaffer (brothers), Glenn Sheaffer, Neil Sheaffer, Jack Sheaffer, and Anna Grace. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Sellers Funeral Home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The Mason-Dixon Nurse Honor Guard will be in charge of Honors. Online condolences may be expressed at sellersfuneralhome.com.
