Nancy L. (Moore) Rhodes, 78, Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, after a battle with lung cancer at her home. She was born April 28, 1946, in in Altoona, PA, to the late Earle and M. Marjorie Moore. A 1964 graduate of Altoona High and Altoona School of Commerce, she married the late James Rhodes in 1968. Nancy was a homemaker for many years and also worked at various buildings at Letterkenny Army Depot from which she retired in 2015. Nancy was a member of the Martha Custis Chapter No. 342 Order of the Eastern Star (Chambersburg), Charles Nitterhouse Post #1599 VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 612, Amvets Post 224 ( Chambersburg), Landis McCleaf Marine Corp League Auxiliary and a long-time member at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Her children, James (Christine) of Fannettsburg, Travis (Tanya) of Waynesboro, and Melody (Rob) Boone of Chambersburg, her grandsons, Jimmy (Jill) Rhodes, Kylar, and Dakota Boone, her two step-grandsons, Damien (Katy) and Ben (Rebekah) Elser, and six great-grandchildren, with one great-grandchild on the way, Linda (Jim) Bacza and Debra (Tom) Ross both of Altoona, PA, sister-in-laws and broher-in-laws, and nieces and nephews are survivors. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, and a great grandson. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Sellers Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, with Pastor Rick Noll officiating. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Wednesday January 15, 2025 from 10:00 am-10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Service. There will be a service by the Martha Custis Chapter No. 342 Order of the Eastern Star on Wednesday from 10:45 a.m to 11:00 a.m. just prior to the service.
