Larry C. Williamson

Mr. Larry Carl Williamson, 74, of Greencastle, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in his home.

Born May 26, 1950, in St. Thomas, PA, he was the son of the late Carl and Helen (Hampton) Williamson.

He graduated from James Buchanan High School, Mercersburg, PA, with the class of 1969. He worked for a time at a factory in Chambersburg, building mobile home trailers, before finding his niche in maintenance, working for the Tuscarora School District for 30 years. He then worked in maintenance for Walmart until he retired in 2012.

He married the love of his life, Kathryn E. “Katie” (Volitis) Williamson. They were married May 5, 1991, at the Macedonia Church, Greencastle.

Larry was a hard worker and a jack of all trades. He had a mind for mechanical work; It would be hard to find something he couldn’t do, and if he found something he couldn’t do, he figured it out! He loved working on cars, as well as assembling model cars. He found joy being outdoors, gardening and working in the yard. He was a quiet, sweet, very dependable man who liked helping others. When he’d finally sit down at the end of the day, he would enjoy watching wrestling, which would inevitably lull him to sleep and when he would wake up, he’d have to ask his wife what happened! He will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.

In addition to his wife of 33 years, Katie, he is survived by five children: Dessie Williamson, Hagerstown, MD, Felicia Martin (Brad Simmons), Greencastle, Mary Jo Lehman (Ryan), Chambersburg, Kari Goold (Eric), Steilacoom, WA and April Brake, Chambersburg; seven grandchildren: Brianna, Chase, Kathryn, Kyla, Aiden, Noah and Dorian; a younger sister, Linda Rebert (Raymond) of Chambersburg and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Randy Williamson, and his brother, Jerry Williamson.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements.
