John Irvin Jones, II

John I. Jones II, 75, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, peacefully at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on December 18, 1949, in Waynesboro PA, the son of the late, John I. and Esther (Beckner) Jones. He was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the class of 1967. John went onto to serve with the US Navy for 23 years from 1969 to 1993 where he earned several medals and commendations during his time of service. John enjoyed spending time with his family and his wife, Treva, dancing and bowling. He enjoyed watching football, especially his Washington Commanders (Redskins) play. He was a member of the Charles Nitterhouse Post #1599 VFW, the American Legion Post #46 and the Loyal Order of the Moose #842. He is survived by his children: Jodi Jones Bishop, Jana Jones Shambaugh, John Jones III (Trey), and Sean Sherri Brengle Smallwood (Seanna). Grandchildren: Brittany Bishop, Cody Bishop, Dominic Shambaugh, Brianna Jones, Gage Jones, Olivia Quade, Alexis Quade, Britney Brengle, Christopher Smallwood. Great grandchildren: Madison Bishop, Atlas Smallwood and his sister, Trina Ray Goetz of Chambersburg. In addition to his beloved parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Treva Donne Jones and sisters: Nancy Sanders, Darlene Cooley, and Barbara Haley and his previous wife and the mother of his children, Glenda Seal. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Sellers Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Despres officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Parklawns. Military honors by the Charles Nitterhouse Post #1599 V.F.W.
