Hrisoula K. “Crystal” Masgalas, 72, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at her home. Born September 14, 1952 in Kefalovrison, Aitoliko, Greece, she was a daughter of the late George and Zoe Kalianezos. Her beloved husband, Konstantinos J. “Charlie” Masgalas, preceded her in death on February 3, 2015.
Crystal, along with her husband, owned and operated 30 West Family Restaurant in Chambersburg for 35 years. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Crystal also enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino and working at her family’s business.
She is survived by two sons, John Masgalas (wife Sheena), and George Masgalas (wife Kasey), both of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Charlie, Athan, Carson, Maysen, Christian and Elias; and three siblings, Hraklis Kalianezos, Maria Hantzi, and Diamantou Tsoukarou, all of Greece. Aside from her parents and husband, Crystal was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Kalianezos.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025, at St. Mary Orthodox Church, 2063 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Fr. Michael Varvarelis will officiate. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L.
