Mr. Gerald Franklin “Frank” Karn, 74, of Abbottstown, Pennsylvania, and formerly of Frederick, passed away early Sunday evening, October 29, 2023, at Somerford Place, Hagerstown, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was the husband of Darla Snurr Karn, his wife of nearly 48 years.
Born June 21, 1949, in Baltimore, he was son of the late Harry Owen and Louise Davis Karn. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy who served in Vietnam.
Frank was the real estate broker & owner of Mt. Prospect Realty, Inc; and owner of Karn Home and Development Company; all of Frederick County.
He enjoyed fishing, antiquing, traveling and making furniture.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his daughter Stephanie Karn Scordo and life partner Matt Dove; his grandchildren Tai Scordo and Sienna Scordo; as well as his sister Gloria Eaves and husband Bob; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Juanita Conkling.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown is assisting the family with arrangements. Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
