Mr. Gary L. Rowe, Sr., 74, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in his home.
Born May 3, 1950 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Eleanor (Bricker) Rowe. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
Gary attended Waynesboro Area Senior High School.
He and his wife of nearly 57 years, Judy A. (Brechbiel) Rowe, were married on December 16, 1967 in Hagerstown, MD.
Gary was a mechanic and machinist, working at Regency Thermographers and Rebuilders Unlimited. He retired in 2016.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was very talented working with his hands.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kelly King of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Shelby Rowe, Gary L. Rowe, III and Dalton M. King, all of Waynesboro; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ronald Rowe (Dory) of Greencastle, PA, Carl E. Rowe, Sr. of Fayetteville, PA and Barbara Diffenderfer (Victor) of Chambersburg; his mother-in-law, Janet Brechbiel of Waynesboro; two brothers-in-law, Donald L. Brechbiel (Barbara) and Randy Farrow, both of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary L. Rowe, Jr.; three sisters, Annabelle Cool, Mary Farrow and Brenda Oberholzer; and two brothers, Harold “Butch” Rowe and Paul E. Rowe, Sr.
A brief graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M., Friday, December 6, 2024, in Mount Zion Cemetery, Mount Zion Road, Quincy, PA with Pastor Greg Helman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Friday afternoon, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
