Mr. Darryl A. Lentz, 81, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, in Brookview Healthcare Center, Chambersburg.

​Born July 30, 1943, in Waynesboro, he was the son of Mrs. Charlotte D. (Stuckey) Lentz of Waynesboro and the late Mr. George A. Lentz, Jr.

​He was a graduate of Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1961 and had served with the Pennsylvania National Guard.

​Mr. Lentz was employed by the Federal Government, first at Letterkenny Army Depot, later at Ft. Ritchie, MD and lastly, Ft. Detrick, MD. He retired after more than 40 years of service.

​He was a member of Waynesboro Fish and Game Association.

​Mr. Lentz loved to spend time outdoors, whether hunting with his son, fishing or tending his vegetable garden. He also enjoyed buying and selling antiques and riding roller coasters.

​In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mrs. Gail A. (Richmond) Lentz, who he married April 24, 2004; son, Dale A. Lentz and his wife, Rose of State Line; step-children, Shawna Kennedy of NC and Patrick S. Kennedy and his wife, Jessica of Waynesboro; six step-grandchildren, Madison, Riley, Millicent, Efrim, Orren and Ashton; sister, Bernice Meeker and her husband, David of Myersville, MD; and niece, Dawn McKennon and her husband, James, and nieces Ryleigh and Kendra McKennon.

​Services will be private at the convenience of the family with burial in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, near Rouzerville.

​Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.

​Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
