Carol R. Lowans, 74, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Chambersburg, PA. Born November 29, 1950, at Lakehurst Naval Station, NJ, she was a daughter of Mary Ann Harris Lowans and the late Charles R. Lowans
Carol was very proud of having grown up in a military family and had fond memories of living in Guam while her father was stationed there. She was a 1968 graduate from Chambersburg Area Senior High School where she played the clarinet. Carol spent most of her adult life caring for animals. She was an animal rights activist and was self-employed as a pet sitter. She also enjoyed politics and was an avid writer.
Aside from her mother, Carol is survived by her sister, Jennifer Lowans; niece, Emily Martin; and nephew, Jeremy Horn. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Beck; and her sister, Melissa Ann Horn.
Per her wishes, Carol will have her body donated for scientific research.
