Mrs. Betty L. (Rose) Shilling, 93, of Cascade, MD, passed away Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born August 10, 1930 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Arlene (Bare) Rose.
Mrs. Shilling graduated from Myersdale (PA) High School with the Class of 1949.
She and her husband, the late David E. “Gene” Shilling, were married on December 16, 1950 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Shilling died on May 30, 2015.
Mrs. Shilling worked at Claire Frock Sewing Factory, Thurmont, MD, for over 40 years.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going out to eat with friends and watching her TV shows – especially wrestling and cooking shows.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy M. Aughinbaugh of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gary Aughinbaugh; two sisters, Dorothy Ringer and Mary Edwards; and one brother, Donald Rose.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Greg Helman officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, MD.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
