CHAMBERBSURG- The Downtown Chambersburg Christmas Market is set to return on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This festive event promises to bring the community together for a day filled with holiday cheer and local charm. Last year, the market attracted more than 5,000 visitors, and organizers are hopeful for an even larger turnout this year.
Attendees can expect a traditional Christmas market experience, featuring a variety of artisan vendors showcasing unique holiday creations. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy authentic holiday food and beverages while mingling with family and friends in a vibrant atmosphere. The market will also include a holiday glass-blowing workshop, where Santa’s favorite elves will assist participants in creating their own festive glass ornaments.
One of the highlights of the event is the chance to take a horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown Chambersburg, allowing guests to admire the beautiful holiday light displays while sipping on seasonal beverages. Families are encouraged to bring their children for a special visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, who will be available for photographs.
The Christmas Market will feature live music from local groups, including performances by the Chambersburg Area High School Glee Club, known for their renditions of classic Christmas carols, and the Blaskapelle German Band, which will play festive tunes throughout the day. Additional musical acts are expected to be announced as the event approaches.
This year, the organizers are expanding their mission to include support for local non-profit organizations. The market aims to raise awareness and funds for various causes, including assistance for children and families in need, veterans and cancer patients. This initiative underscores the market’s commitment to not only celebrate the holiday spirit but also give back to the community.
