We’re barely a week into the winter sports season, and already, the Chambersburg Trojans have made history. Twice.
On Thursday, Chambersburg’s newly-minted girls wrestling team made its program debut, with the Trojans falling to Waynesboro by a 36-18 score.
One day later, Chambersburg’s boys basketball team topped York Suburban by a 56-51 score to give Shawn Shreffler his 388th win as head coach, making him the Trojans all-time wins leader.
At Hagerstown C.C., indoor track season kicked off with the Terry Baker Invitational. Smithsburg’s girls team led the way for area squads, with the Leopards placing third in the field of 17 teams and crowning an individual champion in Emma Joyal (55 hurdles). Smithsburg’s boys got a win from Tyler Younker in the 800.
