BOONSBORO, MD- This Saturday, May 4, the town of Boonsboro, Maryland will host its annual Fishing Derby at the Hawkins Grove fishing pond behind the Boonsboro Library on Potomac Street.
The event is free and open to children aged 1 to 12 years old. The derby is divided into two age groups. Children aged 1 to 6 years old can register from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and fish from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.. The 7 to 12 year old group can register from 10 to 11 a.m. and fish from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fishing poles will be provided for any child who doesn’t have one, ensuring that all participants can enjoy the event. The Hawkins Grove fishing pond is well-stocked with a variety of fish, making it the perfect setting for a fun-filled day of fishing.
