Allison-Antrim Museum to Host Speaker on Fort Loudoun Historic Site

GREENCASTLE- The Allison-Antrim Museum will host a speaker meeting on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. featuring Mike Strausner, President of the Fort Loudoun Historic Site, a Pennsylvania Historic Site. Strausner will deliver a PowerPoint presentation covering the history of the site from prehistoric times to modern day.

The presentation will delve into the details of native Americans who lived at the site before European settlement, the first settler who built his homestead there, and the building of the fort and military operations from 1756 to 1765. The second part of the presentation will discuss the Historical Society’s role at the site, the reconstruction efforts which are underway, and the goals of the Historical Society.
