Ride free in Hagerstown with toy donation

HAGERSTOWN – Riders on the Washington County Transit system can ride without cash Dec. 12-18 by swapping a new, unwrapped toy for bus fare. The toys will be given to Toys for Tots.

As a vital part of the Washington County community, WCT is committed to ensuring that every child has a reason to smile this holiday season. The Toys For Tots program, operated by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, helps distribute toys to local families, fostering hope and joy for children who may otherwise go without during the holidays.

Donations may be made on any Washington County Transit but or in the WCT administrative office or maintenance garage, 1000 W. Washington St. Popular items include action figures, dolls, educational games, and sports equipment.

“We believe in the power of community and the joy of giving,” said Connor Shank, communications and outreach manager of Washington County Transit. “This collection drive is an opportunity for us all to come together and ensure that every child experiences the magic of the holiday season. Every donation counts, and we are grateful for the support of our community.”
