CareerTech celebrates new veterinary assistant graduates

Share

Students at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center celebrated a significant achievement this week as they were recognized for earning their Approved Veterinary Assistant certification. This accomplishment follows their successful completion of the national examination administered by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America.

The program, designed for high school students across several districts including Chambersburg, Fannett-Metal and Greencastle-Antrim, spans three years and combines classroom learning with hands-on experience in veterinary care. Students engage in coursework covering essential topics such as medical terminology, animal anatomy, and surgical assisting, preparing them for careers in veterinary technology.

“Rocky is in skilled hands,” remarked one instructor, highlighting the practical skills these students have developed. The certification not only validates their training but also enhances their employability in the veterinary field, which continues to grow in demand.
