Waynesboro

On New Year’s Eve, a spectacular celebration will unfold at Main Street Park in Waynesboro, where a giant red rose will descend from the sky. The event, known as the Boro Blast, runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and features activities at both the park and the nearby former Elks Lodge. Attendees can enjoy live music and an ice carving demonstration by champion artist Danny Kissel, while hundreds of balloons will also fall during the Drop and Pop countdown at 7 p.m. Organized by Rebecca Erb and her art students from Waynesboro Area Senior High School, this festive occasion promises fun for all ages, including a KidsZone and various prize opportunities. F&M Trust, the lead sponsor, will again host its popular Money Machine, alongside food trucks and 2025-themed giveaways to mark the new year in style.

Chambersburg

Downtown Chambersburg Inc. is preparing for the third annual New Year’s Eve Martin’s Famous Potato Roll Drop on Dec. 31 at Chambers Fort Park, starting at 6 p.m. The event will feature music by D.J. Lex and lively line dancing from Kickin’ It Classy, culminating in the dramatic drop of a giant pack of potato rolls at 9 p.m. Families can enjoy activities such as a bounce house, a candy scramble for children and a visit to Santa’s Clubhouse, while local businesses participate in the festivities. Attendees will also have the chance to win $1,000. Lynn St. Clair from the planning committee expressed excitement about community engagement and celebrating the New Year, while Wendy Cowan from Martin’s emphasized the importance of fostering connections within the community. DCI president Sam Thrush highlighted the event as a cherished tradition that brings families together to welcome 2025.

Hagerstown

Hagerstown is gearing up for its annual New Year’s Eve celebration with the Krumpe’s Donut Drop at Meritus Park, starting at 5 p.m. and culminating with the donut drop and fireworks at 7 p.m. Food trucks will be stationed outside the stadium, and limited bar service will be available inside. This year’s event has been relocated to avoid street closures and reduce setup efforts, as noted by Fountain, with Digging and Rigging providing crane services to lower the giant donut into an AC&T coffee cup backdrop. The festivities will also feature a kids’ zone, music by D.J. Sidekick and complimentary Krumpe’s Donuts along with AC&T hot chocolate and coffee.
