Delores (Garvin) Gilbert, 91, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Providence Place where she had resided the last several years. Born June 1, 1933 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late Earl and Anna (Heckman) Garvin.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area High School with the Class of 1951, where she was a cheerleader and captain of the squad. Delores married her late husband Charles P. Gilbert on May 12, 1956. Delores was employed as a bookkeeper at Interstate Ford throughout her career.
She attended Grand Point Church in Chambersburg, PA. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching movies on the Hallmark Channel, and reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Peri Ann Flory (Dave) of Chambersburg; daughter-in-law Trisha Gilbert of San Diego, CA; three granddaughters, Deanna Leab (Anthony) of Shippensburg, PA, Kristin Flory of Mont Alto, PA, Sydney Gilbert of California; two step grandsons, Lewis and Anthony; two step great granddaughters Isabella and Savannah; a brother, Earl Garvin of Fayetteville, PA and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles P. Gilbert who passed away April 18, 2006 and a son Dirk G. Gilbert.
