Mrs. Mary L. (Haines) Barkdoll, 84, of Waynesboro, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 in the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital.

Born April 14, 1940 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Delbert L. Haines and Carrie E. (Burtman) Haines.

Mrs. Barkdoll was a graduate of Greencastle High School with the Class of 1959.

She and her husband of over 63 years, Edwin D. Barkdoll, were married in June 1961. They had lived at their current Marsh Road address for over 55 years.

In her early life, Mrs. Barkdoll was employed by Stanley Company, Chambersburg. She then dedicated many years to taking care of her home and raising daughters. In later years, she was a greeter at Chambersburg Wal-Mart.

Mrs. Barkdoll enjoyed shopping, doing crafts, sewing, quilting and traveling with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Trudy L. Smith (Elwood) and Nancy L. Snowberger (Ken), all of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, TJ Clopper, Elizabeth Bowser, Amanda Turner and Daniel Turner; seven great-grandchildren, Anakin, Macy, Ryan, Sebastian, Addison, Wyatt and Declan; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Barkdoll was the last of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Alice M. Aldridge.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor David Sword officiating. Burial will follow in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, near Rouzerville, PA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Wednesday afternoon, in the funeral home.
