Mrs. A. Elaine (Weikert) Stilts, 96, a resident of Providence Place, Chambersburg, PA and a lifelong resident of Zullinger, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in the retirement home.
Born June 28, 1928 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Oliver E. Weikert, Sr. and Mary Katherine (Zearfoss) Weikert Stevens.
She and her husband, the late Kenneth F. Stilts, were married July 1, 1950 in Hagerstown, MD. They were together for over 70 years when he passed away June 29, 2021.
Mrs. Stilts was employed by Stanley Co., Chambersburg for a number of years and Connie’s Sportswear, Waynesboro for over 13 years.
She was a former charter member of Mason Dixon Travelers for over 50 years.
Mrs. Stilts was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed traveling in her motorhome along with her husband.
She was the last of her immediate family and is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lowella Bingaman; and three brothers, Oliver E. Weikert, Jr., Eugene Zearfoss Weikert and William Daniel Weikert.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Richard Heinbaugh officiating. Burial will be private in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.
