Emmanuel P. “Manny” DePraetere, 93, of Greencastle, PA passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 9, 1931 in Petegem, Belgium he was the son of the late Gerard and Helena (Vermeulen) DePraetere.
He was a talented automotive mechanic specializing in German made vehicles throughout his career. Manny was last employed for Carucci Motors, Bayshore, NY. He enjoyed bird watching, coloring, studying space and astronomy, and more than anything spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Manny is survived by his loving wife, Yvette P. (VanSimaey) DePraetere; a daughter, Nancy Sabiston and her husband James; two grandchildren, Paull Daino and Kaitlyn Alessio and her husband Andrew; and two great-grandchildren, Finnegan and Lorelai.
A private memorial service will be held for the family. Arrangements are by SimpleChoice Cremation Services, Inc. of Chambersburg.
