Celebrate The Foundry. The Foundry Art Market in Chambersburg is celebrating the grand reopening of its new location at 54 Lincoln Way West on Friday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. After relocating to this new space, the art market is ready to welcome the community back for a day of showcasing local artwork, providing shopping opportunities, and fostering a sense of togetherness. The event promises to be a festive occasion where visitors can explore the work of talented regional artists, discover unique handmade goods, and connect with their neighbors over a shared appreciation for the vibrant local arts scene.

Discover new fabrics. Prepare to be captivated at the 32nd Annual Fabric Fair, hosted by the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary in Chambersburg. This event, taking place on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4, promises a treasure trove of fabric, ribbon, and crafting materials that will ignite your creativity. Held at St. John’s United Church of Christ, the fair offers a unique opportunity to find the perfect supplies for your next project while supporting the ongoing ministry of The Salvation Army.

Go Fishing. The Lurgan Township Recreation Center is hosting the 20th Annual Trout for Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 4. The event is open to children up to and including the age of 15, who can come out and enjoy fishing in the streams surrounding the facility. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Various awards will be presented for tagged fish, and any tagged fish not caught during the event will be honored until the first Saturday in September of 2024. Drinks, hotdogs, and refreshments will be provided throughout the event.

Step back in time. The Washington County Playhouse & Dinner Theater is hosting performances of the classic musical “Grease” on Friday, May 3 at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 4 at 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m.. Tickets are priced between $59 and $65. The show features the iconic characters and music of 1950s Rydell High, including the “Burger Palace Boys” and “Pink Ladies” as they navigate the high school experience. Audiences can expect to be transported back in time and enjoy the timeless songs and stories that have made “Grease” a beloved musical for generations.

Hunt for Treasure. On Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Fort Ritchie Community Center in Cascade, MD will host an indoor yard sale featuring over 50 families and individuals selling a variety of items. Concessions will be available for purchase, and the event will take place rain or shine.
